At the very beginning of the pandemic, I had a problem. I had a drafting table that was very graciously gifted to me. However, I did not use the drafting desk because it was an uncomfortable height to work at. Where I was doing most of my work was on the coffee table beside my bed. My solution: combine the two to create my ideal drawing space.
The gist here is that I'm using the table top and adjustable support arm from the drafting desk, and the hairpin legs from my coffee table. The only thing I had to build was a frame in the middle. I needed there to be slots at the front for the hinge of the table with pins, a crossbar for the support arm to anchor in, and corner supports on the underside for the legs to anchor in. The corner supports also doubled as little storage pockets for tools, which I could view through the glass tabletop.
